Varsity Boys Basketball: The Sammies were victorious in their season opener against the Spartans. Sophomores Chase Gara (15 points) and Gus Jacobson (17 points) shined bright as Sutton beat Uxbridge 52-37. Junior Guard Brennan Benedict was locking down on defense, with 3 blocks and a steal. The boys take on BVT at home this Tuesday.
JV Boys Basketball: A tight 53-45 loss was a tough way to go out Friday, but Bransen Valerio showed great hustle and passion. The offense was rolling, with almost everyone contributing scores. However, this hustle and the great offense still weren’t enough for the Sammies.
Varsity Girls Basketball: The Suzies won in a thriller, 39-35. Ava Carroll, Cam Kinne, and Claire Acocelli paved the way for Sutton—each scoring and playing great defense. The girls head back on the road this Tuesday as they travel to Upton to take on BVT. Good luck to all teams this week.
Girls Hockey: Auburn beats Wayland 4-0 at home. The Rocket’s dominant win over Wayland/Weston Warriors was a great way to start the season. Their dominant defense and goalkeeping were a key factor in the win. Sutton’s Leah Medeiros played great and looks to keep leading her team as Captain.
Boys Hockey: Northbridge (co-op with Sutton) lost to Hudson 8-2 at the DCU Center in Worcester. They look to improve to a record of 1-1 this Saturday against Saint Paul in Marlborough.
