How much about the Trump case was released to the public?

As many people know, Donald Trump posted that he would be getting arrested Tuesday, March 21. He ended up not getting arrested. There are many speculations and opinions around the internet as to whether he should have been or not. He pleaded not guilty and ended up winning the case, which is even more surprising when you know that he was accused of committing 34 felonies. Many will say he was guilty and he won the case because of the position he’s in, or how much money he has though none of us are judges.

The reason he was arrested was a “ in connection with an alleged role in a hush money payment scheme” In other words, he allegedly lied about business records which involved a lot of money. There was no videography allowed in the courtroom, so many significant events that happened there stayed in there.

Andrea Burnstein, who was in the courtroom and covers Trump legal matters for NPR, says that Trump sought “to violate campaign finance laws by conspiring to essence a disrupted election, also a violation of federal laws by giving donations in excess, and a violation to a further violation of tax laws.” She also claimed that the prosecutor said “ the rule of law applies” and that the “judge also treated it that way” which meant that this was no joke, or wasn’t to be looked at as if he was going to be easily ruled innocent due to him being the former president. It meant that this was something serious that could easily get Trump in jail. She made a claim that the next case would be “the State of New York vs. Donald Trump.”

Hundreds of protesters that were for, and against, Donald Trump riled around the courtroom. Some people are also upset with Trump for calling for a protest on Twitter. He also said that “this case should be moved to nearby Staten Island.” His reasoning was that it would be more of a “fair and secure location for the trial.”

Trump can still run for office, according to a rule on the U.S constitution saying that nobody is prevented from running for President because of a crime, or even in Prison. So, from here on out this will be a waiting game.
