It was yet another full slate of games this weekend.
On Friday, both field hockey teams were in action. The Varsity defeated Nipmuc 4-0, moving their record to a perfect 8-0. The JV lost 2-0 to Nipmuc.
The volleyball teams helped Douglas start their homecoming weekend. The Varsity lost 3-0, dropping their record to 2-7. The JV won 2-1.
On Saturday, the Douglas homecoming continued with several games featuring Sutton teams.
Suzies soccer started the day with a decisive 2-0 win to keep rolling with an 8-1 record. Suzies goals came from Molly Jenkins and Addy Jerome. JV was taken down by the Tigers 0-2, now with an even record of 3-3-3.
The Sammies move to 6-3 on the year with a 4-1 victory over rival Douglas Tigers, ruining their homecoming game. Junior Sammies are 3-4-1 as they easily beat Douglas 5-0.
The Cross Country teams went to the Ocean State Invitational and had a good meet. We will have times for you later.
Sutton and Douglas join forces in football, but lost a tough 55-27 loss to Burncoat High. They are now 1-2 and looking to beat St. Paul next weekend. The Benedict brothers had outstanding games, with Cam throwing four touchdowns passes, two going to his brother, Brennan.
