There are three things guaranteed in this world: death, taxes, and a random fruit will gain traction on the internet for being a “super” fruit. How many of these fruits are truly difference-makers though?
Well, over a plethora of different fruits I peeked at, there seem to be plenty of health benefits.
Watermelon
You would never guess it has so many positives but it contains an amino acid called citrulline which is great at reducing blood pressure, and with that comes a reduced risk of a heart attack. A magnificent slice is also an amazing way to get in your Vitamin A which is a great way to improve eye health (one slice containing 9-11% of your daily value).
Limes
Some fruits don’t need to be eaten in mass quantities to be effective. The juice of one lime has so many benefits such as containing citrate which helps prevent kidney stones. The antioxidants in limes can improve your health by reducing inflammation in joints.

Grapefruit
This next one isn’t easy to incorporate into your diet, it is a tough one to get down, and smells extremely potent. It provides great benefits, though, if you can get past the bitterness and nostril incinerating aroma. This super fruit provides healthy bacteria for your gut, and it also can positively impact your cholesterol levels. The main benefit is grapefruit has many anti-inflammatory agents such as flavonoids and carotenoids. These two phytochemicals are often found inside brightly colored fruit and help protect the body from internal damage.
Avocados
The next one might come as a surprise but believe it or not avocado is a fruit. Avocados have many great benefits such as a great source of unsaturated (healthy) fats and people who eat avocados daily have also seen levels of good cholesterol in the body increase dramatically. They are also a great source of vitamin C which is great for the health of your immune system.
Pomegranate
Pomegranate berries are a great source of nutrients for those who are struggling with issues such as urinary health, endurance issues, and digestive health. These berries also can be used to naturally color homemade dishes the color red without the use of harmful artificial colors and extracts like red 40.
Now that I have named all these fruits, I also want to address a common misconception that fruit juice is NOT healthy in any way. When you blend up fruits in any way the body can no longer absorb most of the nutrients. However, what your body will do is absorb all of the sugar that is contained in those fruits. Even though it may be better for you than soda you may want to avoid all of those fruit juicers and extra accessories that are unneeded when trying to get a taste of those great fruits.
In the end though it doesn’t matter how you get your hands on it or what kind of fruit it is, fruit will always have some benefits for your body.
