The Harris campaign can overall be described as free tradist, pro-union, interventionist, and socially liberal.
Trump fits the description of protectionist, Reaganite, anti-Chinese influence, and socially conservative.
However, these labels matter little if one really wants to truly research the candidates available to them, as indicated by the previously mentioned Republicans who have endorsed Harris. Another example is former US Representative Tulsi Gabbard, a 2020 Presidential candidate and Democrat until 2022, who has endorsed Trump.
The only things that matter are the policies and facts about the candidates, not the labels. Barack Obama and Donald Trump were both called inexperienced and not ready to take the Presidency by their highly experienced opponents, both in the primaries and the general elections, in 2008 and 2016, respectively, but we all know how those two stories ended. J.D. Vance has also been called inexperienced and not ready by his opponents this year; however, the recent Vice Presidential debate has shown that despite some baggage, he may indeed be ready to serve as Vice President.
That debate also showed that abandoning labels and trying to stick to the cold hard facts and issues is still possible despite the recent gridlock. If Governor Walz and Senator Vance can do it, America can do it, too.
