Over the last decade, the drug issues in schools have skyrocketed up. Most of this comes in from exposure to vapes.
Millions of teens are now using drugs and alcohol in schools. While this is thought to be only in high school and college, that is no longer the truth. A study done by drug abuse analytics shows that 61% of 8th grade students in America begin using drugs or alcohol.
Another study by drug abuse analytics showed that 11.2% of all drug or alcohol overdoses are people from the ages of 15-24. This study tells us that high schools and colleges are becoming an outlet for these poor decisions. This percentage is only going to continue to go up as more and more younger teens get exposed to them.
I interviewed students in Sutton High School to get their opinions on the drug related issues here and this is what they had to say.
Many schools across the United States have started putting in new ways of putting an end to drugs in schools. The most recent one to start being implemented into schools is a vape detector. These devices are placed into bathrooms and can be set off by vape smoke going up into them. These devices alert the school that someone is using a vape or drug in the bathroom.
Sadly, teens are using vapes and other drugs. Hopefully the trend turns towards them not using.
