Football: Sutton-Douglas took on North High School at Foley Stadium on Saturday. The Polar Bears defeated the Sammies 46-20. Liam Gervicas had a great catch and run for the game’s first touchdown. Brennan Benedict also played great with three catches, a touchdown, an interception, and four tackles.
Field Hockey: A dominant 7-0 win against North Brookfield Jr/Sr High School moves the girls onto the next round of the State Tournament. Seniors Kat Quill and Cam Kinne scored and led the girls to a record of 19-0. They play again tomorrow night against St. John Paul.
Boys and Girls XC: The Sutton XC teams competed at the Frank Mooney Invitational in Wrentham on Saturday. The teams are preparing for the state tournament coming up later this month. Emma Fiore -13th (13:20.40), Annie Lamoreaux – 7th (18:46.43), Gwen Sumner- 23rd (20:36.96), and Kayleen Boratyn – 29th (21:02.72) were key contributors for the girl’s team. Ian Jakubiak – 27th (11:23.98) and Amsden Klinghard ran for the boys, and both teams now look onto the tournament.
