Boys Basketball: The now 2-0 Sammies took down the BVT Beavers (0-2) 56-29 in blowout fashion. The defense was amazing, allowing less than 30 points for the second straight game, and Brennan Benedict (2 blocks, 2 steals) once again locked down the Beavers’ best attackers. The offense was fast-paced and explosive, with more than half of Sutton’s points from behind the arc. Sophomore point guard Gus Jacobson (16 points) was the Sammie’s leading scorer once again. Sutton’s next game is against Burncoat at home this Saturday.
The JV boys lost their game to BVT, 63-17.
Girls Basketball: The Suzies lost a tough one at BVT(2-0) 33-17. The offense struggled, but Claire Acocelli played great on the attack with 6 points and 4 offensive rebounds. Katherine Patraitis was all over the Beavers defensively; her 3 blocks and 7 rebounds gave Sutton life. The 1-1 Suzies play Saint Bernards at home on Friday.
Boys/Girls Indoor Track: Sutton took on Whitinsville Christian School yesterday. The scores were not released at the time this article was published. We will give you those scores soon.
