Health effects and my opinon on anxiety
Dear America: Stop worrying about what anyone thinks!

In the age of the internet people’s lives, activities, etc. can be seen by most people. This is why in the age of the internet, it is especially important to be ignorant of others’ opinions.

Worrying has many negative health effects that can deteriorate your body. Issues such as anxiety and stress naturally lead to mental issues which could grow into unrealistic fears (such as body image and beauty standards).

This is much more common among teenage girls who have a 30.5% chance of developing an anxiety disorder significantly higher than men which is 19.2%. This phenomenon is commonly attributed to differences in brain chemistry and hormone fluctuations.

Worrying is a natural emotion; we have it for a reason. Worry forces us to focus on problems and situations that we want to fix or do right. Worrying about a test or college application, for example, whether you will get a good grade or be accepted into a college can help you would work harder to achieve your goal.

The point I’m trying to make here is that there are many more important problems to worry about daily. Many difficulties in life are tailored to your life, and worrying about something as universal as how people think of you will distract you from problems you should pay attention to.

It is impossible to meet the standards and or gain everyone’s respect. Everyone you meet in life has an image of who you are. They develop their expectations and bias as soon as they meet you for the first time. Trying to uphold the expectations of even all the people you know is impossible.

You should instead focus on what the important people in your life expect of you. Your boss, parents, friends, and anyone that you are closest with.

Being completely your own person isn’t possible. Humans were meant to learn from one another not just by learning but also by becoming yourself. You should learn from people you respect, not a general consensus of what’s appropriate, online or otherwise.

Focus on what you enjoy. I’m talking about hobbies, preferences, etc. No one has a better judgment of your life and enjoyment than you do. So why would you listen to how people stereotype you?

Most opinions or jokes stereotyping hobbies and careers are from an outside view. That’s why you shouldn’t respect their opinion on who you are based on what you do.

In conclusion, life is yours to enjoy and live. There is no right or wrong way, just your way, so listen to people you know and respect and question anything that is said towards you. Even in this article, I have no right to tell you how you should think anyway. This article was just to make a case for my opinion.

But I believe that we all want to be successful and happy, so just enjoy life while it’s here, whether you agree with me or not.
