What you should be doing and what you want to be doing as a senior are far from the same. People are telling you what you need to have done, where you should be going, and what the next step is but sometimes the list just becomes too long and you need a break.
Yes, you do need to be making applications if college is in your future and you apparently still need to keep your grades up. You need to fill out scholarships and don’t fall short on all of your extracurricular activities, clubs and even sports. Don’t forget to get at least eight hours of sleep to be well rested, but also finish your homework.
As students we are run so ragged that we barely have time for ourselves. It is hard to carve time on our busy schedules of our lives that are moving so fast that we just give up on our time, and that doesn’t seem very healthy. Schools and teachers can preach about mental health and self wellness; however, the pile of homework on our desks says otherwise. If you don’t get it all done you can drop your grade by something close to ten points, but also be happy. The system is so very convoluted and hypocritical to try and do our best.
So, in my opinion what you should be doing as a senior is very personalized. My choice is going to be to enjoy the time that I have left in the school I grew up in. I am going to have fun with my friends and the people I have seen every weekday for the most part of my life. As a Sutton High School senior myself, I am going to enjoy every moment that I can, and I think you should do the same.
