The Suzies field hockey team is officially in playoffs, hoping to bring home the big win this year.
So far, the girls played their round of 32 game against North Brookfield, which they won 7-0. Then, their Sweet 16 game against Saint John Paul II was a 1-0 win. Additionally, they won 2-0 in the Elite 8 game against No. 6, Lynnfield on Sunday, November 10. Since the girls won this game, they received the Final 4 title for advancing to the state semifinals. (They got this last year, but were unfortunately knocked out of the Final 4 game.)
The girls were undefeated in their regular season this year, a major accomplishment for them. Now, they can’t afford any losses because just one will end their run in the tournament.

On Sunday, November 10, the Suzies played Lynnfield at Northbridge High School. They won 2-0, advancing to the Final 4 for the second year in a row.
The first quarter went by without a goal from either team. The girls played tough defense, not letting Lynnfield get many opportunities in the circle.
In the second quarter, there was more action in the circle for the Suzies. Senior Cam Kinne scored the first goal of the game with just over a minute left, putting the Suzies on the board. The girls were only up by one with a lot left in the game, meaning they would need to play strong defense and hopefully score more goals.
In the third quarter, senior Kat Quill dribbled all the way up the field past the defenders, passed it to junior Claire Acocelli, and she scored. This put the Suzies up to 2-0. With a small lead, they all knew defense would be key.
In the fourth quarter, the Suzies didn’t let Lynnfield score and played strong defense. Senior Allie Hastings had some awesome saves, keeping the ball away from the goal.
Tonight, in the Final 4 game, #3 Sutton plays #2 Monomoy, and #1 Uxbridge plays #4 Frontier. The two teams who win their Final 4 games will advance to the D4 State Championship game.
