The famous singer Lady Gaga was born on March 28th, 1986, in New York City. She was born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta but found her stage name from the song ‘Radio Ga Ga’ by Queen.
In her childhood, Lady Gaga took music and acting lessons and always wanted to make music. In her teenage years, Gaga began writing songs, participating in school plays, and sometimes played at open mic clubs.
The determined teen had multiple false starts but kept going. Before she found her love for pop and dance music, she wanted to pursue rock and roll. Although she sings and creates pop music, she still classifies herself as a rock singer.
Lady Gaga eventually found a partner to duo with, Lady Starlight, who helped Gaga start up her fashion on stage. These two performers became best friends and performed together at a weekly party in 2007, ‘The New York Street Revival and Trash Dance.’ They sang rock songs from the 1970s and 1980s, and in between songs that Lady Gaga created.
Their insane performances included lighting hair spray cans on fire, which they blew into the crowd, and go-go dancing.
Lady Gaga decided to move from New York to Los Angeles to begin her new debut album. Gaga’s The Fame album was released in August of 2008 and became a humongous hit, with four singles hitting the U.S charts including the number one hits, ‘Poker Face’ and ‘Just Dance’.
The EP album after The Fame, The Fame Monster, was released as a follow-up in 2009 with multiple popular songs like ‘Bad Romance’, ‘Telephone’, and ‘Alejandro’. Her music videos have a deep meaning, which she is not afraid to show, with some being about her past experiences. Her tour ’Monster Ball’. became one of the biggest concert tours of all time supported by a fan base that she adores, which she calls ‘little monsters’.
The second album, Born This Way, was released in May of 2011 with her main song “Born This Way” becoming her biggest hit, getting Three Grammy Awards and two VMAs, including Best Female Video. This album is about the LGBT community and how you should accept for who you are. She mentioned in an interview that “the cover with me half-female, half-motorcycle is meant to be or symbolic of the fact that I’m endlessly always changing in so transformative, many ways.”
Lady Gaga’s song ‘Die with a Smile’ (with Bruno Mars) created this love song to show the final moments with their loved ones, with emotional lyrics and a song that could be played anywhere. This song allowed her to get her first number-one song on the Billboard Goble 200 and even reached number three in the U.S.
The famous singer has added acting to her career with the movies A Star is Born, Joker: Folie à Deux, and more. Lady Gaga has created music to accompany some of her films, like her Harlequin album for her movie Joker, A Star Is Born album for the movie, and her Top Gun: Maverick album for the TV series.
