Miami 15 New England 10
In a thriller, the Miami Dolphins secured a victory over the hometown New England Patriots, helped by a late touchdown and three successful field goals by kicker Jason Sanders. Despite the Patriots’ strong push in the final minutes, they were unable to get by the Dolphins, who held on for the win. In a matchup between two of the NFL’s weakest teams, the game featured several penalties, bad kicks, and poor time management. Miami secured the lead for good when Ingold scored a touchdown with four minutes remaining on his sole carry of the game. The Dolphins (2-3) then had to withstand two more possessions by the Patriots — one featuring a touchdown that was overturned after review and another that failed when New England, after completing a pass at the Miami 11 in the middle of the field, couldn’t stop the clock. The Patriots thought they scored a touchdown with 63 seconds left, but replays showed that Ja’Lynn Polk stepped out of bounds. After two incomplete passes and another penalty, the Patriots turned the ball over on downs. Miami’s star receiver Tyreek Hill had six receptions for 69 yards, while Jaylen Wright rushed for 86 yards and Raheem Mostert contributed 80 rushing yards for the Dolphins. Tyler Huntley, in his second start as the fourth quarterback for Miami, threw 18 of 31 passes for 194 yards and one interception.
