Whether it be power lifting, strongman, bodybuilding, calisthenics, etc., everyone who trains is there to become better in any or every way they can. Lifting is beneficial to everyone because it helps increase strength, mental toughness, and physical health.
Some people only see the gym as people getting big muscles and lifting heavy weights but that is so wrong. Every day people go to the gym to just stay healthy. Yes, they may lift weights but lifting isn’t always for muscle growth, it can be for mobility, speed, and more.
When lifting, EVERYONE should prioritize form; this can make you lift safely and efficiently. The cool thing about having good form is you unintentionally become more efficient with certain movements. For example, if you have great form at the barbell squats, your mobility in your knees and shoulders will become better.
Most of the core movements will improve your joint and tendon health without any extra supplements. Some movements don’t even require weights like running, which is good cardio and builds your legs and core, and body weight exercises like pushups and sit-ups also improve your core and chest strength. A lot of people use resistance bands to train mobility and strength. Some people find that training reduces anxiety and helps them feel better about themselves.
Staying healthy is another plus to training since you keep your body moving which is essential for people of all ages to stay mobile.
Training sometimes provides employment for people like fitness influencers, gym trainers, gym owners, and bodybuilders. Fitness influencers make their money by showing people what they do to keep themselves healthy and/or strong. Gym Trainers make their living by helping other people reach their goals which brings them money. Gym owners open gyms for people to workout which help the people training and them because of the constant cash flow. Body builders use their body to become the best and try to win money on the stage against other body builders.
Training constantly brings up your stamina/energy which in the long run will help you in day to day life, whether it be working, hanging out with friends, or even playing a sport. Training to be your best self may encourage other people around you to be better and they may even start training to be healthier. Some people prefer low intensity training like hiking. Hiking may bring you closer to nature and help you mentally unwind, and keep you healthy.
So, get out there and train!
