Lifting heavy is good for improving strength, speed, mind to muscles control, and more physical and mental functions. Lifting heavy promotes bigger micro tears in the muscles which mean more growth/strength from that muscle.
Lifting heavy weight is different for everyone, because not one person is the exact same. One person’s weight could be 315 lbs. and others could be 175 lbs. Yes, the more weight you move the bigger in amount and size the tears would be.
Again it’s different for everyone. Some people may have a better reaction to low weight high rep and other people have vice versa reactions.
Doing certain exercises with heavier weights can be dangerous, so you have to be safe while going heavy and not to do things that you’re scared/hesitant about without a spotter. Lifting heavy also preserves muscle so when you get older you still have muscle and strength, which can sometimes determine if you can live.
Another positive of lifting heavy is that your bone density will increase by the stress/weight on your bones, and this makes it so your bones won’t break easily and you will be able to hold more weight.
Metabolism is another thing that is affected by heavy lifting; your metabolism is boosted by the muscle in your body which correlates with heavy lifting.
While lifting heavy weights have a lot of benefits, a very important one is it can increase testosterone and growth hormone temporarily which can improve your mood and take away stress. The heavy weights that you lift will also strengthen your nervous system which will make you more coordinated.
Staying in good shape is also an effect of lifting heavy; it is better than cardio because you gain muscle while losing weight, compared to losing fat and the muscle you have built, then a lot of cardio or fasting makes that disappear.
Lifting heavy also improves how you age and your lifespan, avoiding diseases like osteoporosis which can be detrimental for health. If you aren’t happy with your body, the gym can change your body and the way you look to a certain extent.
Lifting can also bring a social aspect to your life, like if you go to a commercial gym you will meet people who may have similar goals to you. Being surrounded by people that want to be better can improve your mind set and push you closer to your goal too.
These reasons and more are why lifting heavy can benefit everyone.
