Unless you’ve been under a rock you know this Sunday is the Superbowl between the Patriots and Seahawks.
The Patriots are coming out of a rough couple years following Tom Brady leaving and Bill Belichick being fired.
The Seahawks haven’t won a Superbowl since 2013 with their infamous roster nicknamed the Legion of Boom.
The teams will be playing at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, at 6:30 ET.
Both teams had outstanding seasons with a record of 14-3. The Seahawks are the favored team, but when looking at the Patriots offensive stats. Drake Maye, the Patriots’ quarterback, has more throwing yards than Sam Darnold, the Seahawks quarterback, while the top receiver, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, of the Seahawks has more touchdowns and receiving yards than the Patriots’ leading receiver, Stefon Diggs.
Statistically the Patriots are better with the pass game as Maye has more yards, touchdowns and fewer interceptions.
When it comes to run game the Seahawks have more yardage than the Patriots but with less touchdowns, another close stat that I would say favors neither teams.

Defensively speaking the Patriots have fewer interceptions and sacks than the Seahawks and I believe they take a point there and could affect the outcome of the game severely as defense is crucial.
Statistically I can’t understand why people would favor the Seahawks. The Patriots seem stronger offensively and comparably similar, and I think this makes the Patriots a slightly better team even with a slightly weaker defense.
Strength of scheduled also is a key detail and it isn’t really a doubt that Seattle was playing stronger teams or at least more competitive league.
The Seahawks have also been a lot better than the Pats have the last couple years, narrowly missing playoffs in back to back years when the Pats weren’t even in the conversation.
With all that considered, the teams seem to be a pretty close match up and should provide an entertaining game for fans around the world.
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has Super Bowl experience of his own, not as a coach but as a linebacker for the Patriots, winning three Superbowl with the team.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald has never played professional football or won a Super Bowl but is a career head coach and been with the Seahawks for two years. I personally think when it comes to experience Mike Vrabel has the advantage being a coach who has been a pro player and a three time Super Bowl champion.
My prediction is that the Patriots win and add a seventh Lombardi trophy to their collection.
