Dear America,

We have changed.

Whatever happened to “United we stand. Divided we fall.”? Have we seemed to have forgotten about that? About what that means?

Right now, we are divided. We’re probably the most divided we’ve ever been. If we keep acting like this, we will fall. In fact, we are falling right now. The fall is slow yet fast, and there will be a strong impact on the American people. You don’t have to agree on the same things. You don’t have to do, say, or act a certain way just because someone who happens to not like your actions tells you so.

But, being united means that we can trust one another. That we see each other as brothers and sisters. That we can work together. That we can see past our differences. Without that trust, how can we cooperate? We must work together to break that fall, or else that impact will affect us all.

We, the American people, are what makes up our country. We all have many privileges that a lot of countries don’t have. Being united is what is stopping us from becoming like that. In America, if you work hard enough you can achieve anything. It doesn’t matter what your background is. We are given so many opportunities. We are given chances, and when you have that chance don’t waste time taking it, because if you don’t take that chance now, there’ll be a time when you can’t.

In many countries, they don’t have it like that and must take that chance once they can. There is no later. We can’t go down that road. It is unfortunate that it takes something tragic to bring us together. Our history, how we became, how we are here now, how far we have gotten as a country.

We can’t stop. We won’t stop.

We don’t have to agree on everything, but we should have an understanding. We the People should protect our freedoms, protect our constitutional rights while we still can. It can all easily be taken away from us, forever. It is quite unfortunate how everything we have has blinded people. People don’t realize how good they’ve got it here. We’ve fought many wars, been through many hardships in America, all within the span of 240 plus years, and we are still here. We made it to the top, and we are here to stay.

No one should care about what race, sex, ethnicity, religion, or background you came from. Those don’t define who you are. It doesn’t make you any better than me, or myself any better than you. No one cares. Because we are all the same within our own differences. United we are one. But, put aside all that makes us different. Because we all have one thing in common and that’s being American. Embrace it because many people are afraid to do that today.

So there’s still hope that one day we all can help unite this nation, and continue to build the American dream. We will become stronger together. We will not let divisiveness make us fall, and when we do we’ll get back up. We won’t let ourselves become vulnerable. We aren’t weak. We are Americans, so show the world what that means. We aren’t republicans, nor democrats. We aren’t right, nor left. Nor conservative or liberal.

We are Americans. Patriots. We gotta do all to protect it because this is all we have. This is our home.
