The latest season of The Book of Boba Fett

The Book of Boba Fett exceeded expectations

The latest season of The Book of Boba Fett begins with him escaping from a sarlacc pit. He fell into the pit in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The show immediately goes into his life after escaping the sarlacc pit and living among the sand people. He started off as a prisoner and managed to work his way up to be recruited as one of their own. The show made you care for the sand people as in the movies they are portrayed as creatures rather than people.

The series is mainly focused on Boba Fett after the Mandalorian. He is now taking over Jabba the Hutt’s position as Daimyo of Tatooine and attempts to keep the cities clean of spice and gang activity.

The first three episodes have flashbacks of Boba Fett’s life with the Sand people to where he is now. Boba was heavily damaged from acid in the Sarlacc pit so he required healing from his medical equipment; the Bacta tank (a tank filled with liquid that heals any wounds on the body). Whenever Boba used the tank, the show would start his flashbacks.

The writing and acting was really done well. The CGI seems to be improving for shows like this and it seemed better than some movies. Although the CGI out-performed what I thought it would, you still have to account for Disney’s money. Disney does an amazing job with their picks of CGI artists and it definitely shows. There were many creatures in the show, and all of them looked realistic.

Not only were some of the visuals breathtaking but the sound effects were original to STAR WARS. The show talked about past STAR WARS movies, and implemented a character from the Clone Wars, and Cad Bane (Boba Fett’s mentor). The show also brought in the Mandalorian and his little friend Grogu (baby Yoda).

The director left the show on a cliffhanger as Boba Fett no longer wanted part of being a Daimyo after attempting to be one for the town Mos Espa. The series also hinted at Cad Bane’s return after Boba supposedly killed him. I think the show itself had a great story and did it’s job as entertainment. The show also brought back Luke Skywalker while he was training Grogu to become a Jedi.

Overall the show was great with easter eggs of other movies, and did a great job of making it feel like STAR WARS. There were some scenes that didn’t seem normal, a speeder chase scene felt like the team was rushed in some aspect, and was very slow paced. These vehicles can go more than 90 mph and yet the scene felt slow, like 10 mph.

The show had a normal pace and told the story and others as well. For an entire two episodes it was based around the Mandalorian. People were upset by this, but the show is called The Book of Boba Fett, and books go in different directions and also go into other characters’ lives.

The show made sense, being a nice addition but it wasn’t the greatest out of Star Wars. I believe the original trilogy, The Clone Wars, Revenge of the Sith, and The Mandalorian hold that title. I believe this show was made to give us content while we are waiting for the Obi-Wan-Kenobi show which will be arriving May 25.
